Threads with over 20 pages pages...Poll

It can be a pain trawling through endless pages, and I find that unless it is something I am really interested in, I tend to skim through a lot of it, getting the general jist. I don't know what else one can do about it though

Perhaps we could borrow something from the cricket world and have "Limited Over" threads. Twenty posts maximum and the thread is locked.

Actually, I think threads could be a lot shorter if there weren't so many posts along the lines of;
"I couldn't be arsed to read the thread but here's what I think/do/recommend"
Which of course merely repeats what all the other people that couldn't be arsed to read the thread have already said.

I couldn't be arsed to read the thread but what's the actual issue here? Is there a concern about wasted server space or bandwidth or something? If people want to keep tit-for-tatting over nothing for 20+ pages, why not let 'em? I really can't see the problem. Or am I missing something?

I'm not sure there is an issue really, it's just that somebody get's a bit grumpy with the way the forum is run sometimes.

That's pretty much my opinion.

I don't want to do it myself but if other people want to then let them get on with it, there are far more important things in life to worry about.
