Not referring to threads like "Tea", "Three word game", "What have you fettled" with or "Your ride today" etc. More on issues that cover social, politics, and topical issues.

I find that its only a few people that interact in them and any new development gets buried in it.

I'm not sure of the nature of the problem, if a thread is long, by definition it must be continuing to attract interest. You can't force people to be continuously interested in the contents of a thread, for example if a thread starts about rim brakes containing questions about rim brakes, it may attract responses but it might not be the top of many people's list of threads to revisit.. Also I have certain subsections of the forum blocked from my view, so I will only see posts on sections I'm interested in.

So what you mean is "not café threads" but threads in Society, Culture and Politics?

And you start a thread about it in Café. Yep, that seems to make sense.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I like patricks recipes, especially as they seem to annoy some people a lot. They're funny, and I love the comments that are made.

I think Arrowroot is appropriate.

You think he's a what?

I get bored at work very easily...should probably look into that, but it suits my needs...anyway...the point is that I need a long thread to keep myself entertained...I'm like a selfish cat with a ball of string...I find it all rather educational and ever so funny at times too, so naaaaah, keep it as it is...saves repetition...sometimes...and you could also open up your own thread if you like...oh...umm...yeah....

Cracking a solo.
Query: Should threads be limited to 20 pages?
Answers: yes, no and why is it a problem for you equally
Plus extra option of it keeps me awake at night, missing grammar, Rocky's and Vernon's butlers chatting to each other and why start this thread in the cafe?

Thank you, still a little long though, my concentration was drifting towards the end ;)
Maybe 20 posts rather than pages.

Happy with things as they are.

I sometimes think that the purpose of the long running threads over in SC&P is to keep some of the more combative members of this forum away from the "normal" civilians who inhabit "General Cyling Discussions" & "Cyclechat Cafe" etc. Kind of like the segregation fencing they have at football grounds.
