Just had a very brief storm following a heavy shower.

It came back again.

The far east of Leeds and we've been enjoying the storm since before 6pm and we've had a monsoon of rain to go with the thunder and lightning.
Local reports of flash floods affecting a sizeable number of homes a few miles away, the local fire engine has been out repeatedly and, according to several reports, the council are not answering their emergency out of hours phone line...

Had a cracking storm here, just to the south of Shrewsbury. Started with the sky darkening rapidly and taking on a green tint, then lightning flickering continuously like strobe lights and the thunder was just a constant roar for a good twenty minutes+ before it carried on its journey northwards still flicking out the odd thunderbolt as it went. I genuinely haven't seen anything quite like it before.

We've had some terrific storms here in the past but this one stands out as a good'un.

Many years ago while climbing near Torridon(Bein Eighe) I was hit by lightning, still love a good storm.

Northants is presently storm free, but a mate and I got rained on for 10 minutes in Brixworth this afternoon.

I couldn't make head nor tail of tomorrows forecast. We might get piddled on, we might not, and it could happen at any time. Or not at all...

If it's anything like here, today's forecast bore no relation to what actually happened so it could be anyones guess.

Just a thought, what is the accepted practice if you get caught out in a thunderstorm while out cycling? Should you find decent cover, or just keep going?
Would a bike act as a lightning magnet?

So I'm sat here as it goes dark, awaiting the predicted thunder storm.
I love a good storm. We had to dash back from our walk during a heavy shower.
I'm in south Cheshire. Has anyone else got a storm??

We had a splendid light show with sound effects here in Carlisle about 40 minutes ago.unfortunately,we also got the biblical deluge!All quiet now!

We had a small storm earlier and I've just been to the shop and it is so hot outside its like being on holiday!! Weird that it is dark and hot in England, so I suppose well get another bad one overnight. I love them too
