The rim seems to be a little bit more worn than I thought!

Sorry, but I forgot the  smiley as I've already decided to replace it with a Superstar Components wheelset I've had as spares for a while. I knew it was bad, but didn't realise it was THAT bad - that wheel's just got to do another week & a bit of commuting before it get's junked

Unless you are into wheel building, you might as well get a new wheel. I re-built the wheels on the Galaxy (wide flanged hubs) and for the cost of just the spokes I could have got a second hand wheel. Never mind the time or cost of a new rim.

It seems a shame to dump a working hub just because the rim has worn out.
All fully recyclable metal.

Yebbut, you still have unnecessary manufacturing costs. A half-decent hub should last for years and years.
Just checked the original order for these wheels (Fulcrum Racing 3.5s) and I've had them for over six years of which at least three were were on this bike which is the main all weather commuter. The front wheel has also got simiar wear to the rear above, but they both still spin nice & smoothly.
