Even better if you fill your timesheets as you go, each day.

You're funny. That's hilarious ^_^

Timesheets are supposed to provide data on how long tasks take. When the data has been edited by the workers to reflect what management want to hear they are useless.
We have moved on to a target of how much real work has been completed during the month.

If the management were worthy of the name they'd already be on top of their KPI's to tell them what work is being done. If they've had to resort to timesheets or activity analyses they've already failed.

My role is 100% timesheet based.
we bill all our time to clients.
I have to account for 7.5 hours of billable time per day.
I hate time sheets

Which means you probably have to work at least 9 hours a day.

If whoever logs the timesheets in to allocate overheads and time taken to complete a project, doesn't then use that information to more accurately cost out the next project then they are a waste of everybody's effort. I never used them because everybody cheats but at least you know exactly when a project has over-run its allocated time in the budget- not that you can stop working on it or go back for more money!
