What are these days with unlimited times, and an extra hour with the kids as the OP mentioned is very important to some, for me it is an extra hour with my wife. I take it you may not have them.
You're wrong. I guess there's no real argument against what I wrote so insulting me is the only remaining thing @screenman could think of. If your wife is on an unchangeable timetable that means it helps to get up early then that's a reason but I suspect it's rare. It's a few days each year for me.

You may take it as an insult, but it was meant as a reply to your post.

Whilst I have your attention, what kind of blog posts would you like to see? Are there any topics you feel don't get covered anywhere?

Depends what your objectives for the blog are. Most people use blogs simply to relate their experiences. If you intend to start pronouncing on certain topics, then knowledge is key...

My aim is to combine my love of cycling with my real expertise which is running a business.

It is to try and help the biggest complaint I hear from the people I cycle with, 'I wish I had more time on the bike'. Helping people with ways to find more time to cycle, combined with the skills I am picking up on the way (basic bike maintenance, training schedules, gear etc)

Does that sound too niche, or is it useful?

From the response I got to the post on here maybe there isn't as much of an audience as I thought

Oh there is an audience on here. Just some people like to read rather then post. You thread has had over 200 views to date.
What is good is that you have posted your writings on here for people to read rather then posting just a link to your blog. I for one don't like someone posting on the forum saying 'Here's my blog - go read'. That's one way of making sure I wont read it.

There are thousands of cycling blogs out there all vying for attention. A lot of good ones and a heck of a lot of crap ones. Keep posting your words, keep it interesting and you will gain an audience.

The blog sounds useful and interesting, but this post seemed rather unquestioning of several forms of orthodoxy, including the nobility of very early mornings, of dangerously early icy club runs, of strava, of leaving your house cluttered while asleep, of packet pap (it ain't real porridge), of hydration BS, of cleats, of Klingon-like warrior attitudes...

Not enough to make me unsubscribe but not as good as the first few posts. Hope that explains!

It's great to stir up debate. Different perspectives are what make us human beings.

I find I learn so much from hearing the other side of the argument. Some of the points here I had not even considered.

That has to be the point of a blog. It can't be gospel as so much is just opinion.

If it starts a debate though we all learn

Oh and the blog refers to "the comments section below" but there isn't one displayed on my android phone.
