have you wieghed it or is that the quoted weight?
there is a noticeable difference in weight between the two metals so it should be obviously if you have been sent the wrong item.
I believe Ti gives off different colours sparks when ground and also is a damn sight harder to saw trhough (although hardened steel whcih Shiman BB are made of is tough too).
Unfortunately both the above methods are non destructive.
