Hello,

Im current looking for my first titanium road bike or frameset. I've always promised myself one day.

I'm 6ft 3inches tall and would like a British UK bike preferably. I've looked at Reilly and their size chart ain't the best. But they assure me their 59cm T325 road bike will be perfect.

I have also chatted with Lynskey in Tennessey USA who cater for 6ft 4inches and there bikes look beautiful but ordering from abroad is taking a chance.

If any tall person who has experienced buying a titanium bike could give me some advice I would be really grateful.

Chalky.

@Soltydog is a tall chap and the proud owner of a custom Enigma :okay:

You don’t need to order Lynskey from abroad, fatbirds at pedal Revolution in Kings Lynn are a stockist and specialists in Ti. Had a very good day looking at and discussing the option

I ended up with a Sabbath AR1 from Spa in Harrogate who own Sabbath now... they were also excellent and not as costly as many of the other options (kind of depends on budget). The AR1 is more gravel with discs but they also do more roadie options with rim brakes. Well worth a visit too

Enigma in Hailsham are also super helpful, I just couldn’t justify the extra £1k or so cost in the end

If spending £2-4K on a Ti bike, don’t buy blind, visit some of the sellers

Pearson also have some (pricy) Ti options in their range. They are as British as they come (been trading since 1860 or something) but like all of the companies, the frames are manufactured in the Far East where the expertise is located

I'm 6'5" & have 2 Ti bikes. My first was a Van Nic Ventus & loved it, got a good deal on it, but it does sometimes feel a little on the small size, although I had a bike fit early last year & it was fine, just needed a more angled stem to raise the bars a little more. At 6'3" they would be fine & I think most UK brands will be fine.
It depends what you want regarding a 'British' bike. I have an Enigma Etape, which a British company, but the stock frames for some of the range are built in the far east (same as many UK companies), then built up & finished here in the UK. The Etape is a fantastic do it all bike, full mudguards on for the typical UK weather, clearance for wide tyres & mounts for a rear rack. I certainly don't regret purchasing it & it is normally the first bike I want to ride, unless commuting.
I believe they have a 60cm ex demonstrator Evoke, which is probably the one I test rode down there. If you are wanting a more racier bike then it's not a bad deal at all & if I could justify another at the moment I'd be considering it :okay: https://shop.enigmabikes.com/collections/factory-outlet/products/evoke-disc-60cm-ultegra-r8000-build

As Vickster says, if you are spending a few grand on a bike then always worth a test ride first. Before buying the Enigma I test rode another make & was disappointed to say the least  but I did buy the Van Nic without a test ride & that turned out ok

I think you should get rid of the Van Nichs if it is too small.

Yours for £2700 & then I'll buy the Evoke :okay:
I'm sure with the miles you do, you can justify buying one soon ^_^

Cheeky bugger don't forget you told me how much you paid for it
