just on looks it would have to be the silverwing and read the motorcycle news review on both . the silverwing comes out on top by a long way

CB500 and become a FWB..
Or as you say, get some decent waterproof kit and invest in Nikwax products.

as they say about these cycling peddle things people have on here , go for the most one that fits best and suits your style of riding .

So now I have a new quandry. Do I go for the comfort, protection and ease of the Silverwing, and suck up the poorer resale value, lower mpg (40ish against about 70 for the CB500) and more regular services, or do I save a grand and get a 1-year-old CB500X which is far more engaging but has no weather protection? I'd have to buy luggage and get some better wet-weather gear.[/QUOTE]

I have no idea, they are such different machines. But the 500 has some excellent reviews, I recall reading about it being a serious RTW bike, making things like the big beemers look silly, not just on price either.

Here you go.:okay:

I have been right up to 1300cc but when I think about it, all the best fun I had on motorbikes was on middleweights. I enjoyed reading the Hubb posts about the 500 and if I get another bike, this would be it. Give a review please. :okay:

Its a superb commuter /traffic tool; V twin, flat torque output, shaft drive so no messing about with chains, narrow bars Ive only got one mirror on to get through the tightest gaps, totally reliable- famed as dispatch bikes in London-Before dispatchers died out mileage 68K and it looks like 20K

I also have:
