Excellent. I've kinda been doing the same thing to try and get away from just commute rides but I'm just not sure.

I was umming and arring about a club to join and went out for a great ride yesterday with Salford Cycling Club, local to me and a ride for everyone of all abilities...so today I joined up!
Enjoy, most clubs are welcoming and friendly, and contrary to popular opinion don't all whizz around at 20 mph to try and leave new members behind.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Did my 1st club run in months , really cheered me up even if compared to my old pace it was a bit of a dawdle .
The company in itself was motivation to keep riding and not pack it in , which has been at the back of my mind along with constant hints from work and family .

Wore a helmet for the first time on my commute in ! I am doing a triathlon in April so need to get used to wearing one, may wear it all winter when the roads are a little more dangerous and not bother in the Summer
It wasn't as harrowing an experience as I thought it would be !
I can definitely recommend the Carnac Notus Helmet for comfort and I hope I will never find out how good it is at it's job.....

Wore a helmet for the first time . . . I hope I will never find out how good it is at it's job.
The title of this thread is "Today I joined a cycling Club"
I have found that out: it did the business; but my neck is still sore.
The helmet thread is that way >>>>>>
