I'm confused.

My understanding was that EHIC is long gone, replaced by the GHIC (one of which nestles in my wallet).

I can't see any deadline on the GHIC.

As I understand it both still exist and do something different. If you plan on going to Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein then get a EHIC today.

I had the same problem but eventually succeeded (after 15 minutes).

As far as I know, the Ehic card is still valid, as long as it is in date.
The new Ghic card has replaced it.
You still need travel insurance anyway.

Thanks for the heads up - just in time for me to ensure cover for my family for the next five years.

EHIC/GHIC doesn’t cover repatriation costs.

Or all HC providers, eg many who work outside the main public hospitals / clinics in Greece
