I think that each offered fact should be supported by link to a source that supports it.

Mpemba discovered this phenomena in 1963 in Africa roughly the same time as I was told not to put warm water out for the birds in winter by my grandmother in Darlington. Her reading material was confined to the local newpaper, Bunty and the Radio Times so her assertion was likely to be the relaying of a received wisdom than the transfer of knowledge from reading a learned journal. I never challenged her assertion and indeed passed it on myself. I came across it again when I was training the be a Physics teacher in 1983.
