Yipee. Light winds ,sun , not too warm or cold and its my one day off in the middle of a hectic fortnight. There is a God after all .

Plus I managed to get a late entry into the Lumpy Scrumpy 110 Audax in the Forest of Dean Ideal event to try out my new (to me) Dakota 20. (Route sheet will still be on its holder on my stem, not that confident in this scaletrix trickery yet.). :-)

Looks good here too. I have to go to work in the morning but the forecast for tomorrow afternoon, sunday and monday is not too shoddy.

I've been targeting Saturday based on the weather forecast. Bit chilly early on but sunny, almost no wind. Lack of wind is the thing here. If it is 10mph in the towns, it's at least 30mph on the tops.
So I'm up, loading full of porridge and I'm off. 60 miles planned with about 25 miles of lanes I've never ridden before (including a lovely 0.8km @14% climb). Can't wait.

Brought the road bike down to North Wales again, so sorry locals, I'll be knocking you down a spot on Strava. Hehehehehehehe.... Light winds would be nice, but that's rare on the coast.

Will try and escape for a spin tomorrow.

Dakota worked well. Still used the routesheet especially as there were 5 info controls on the Lumpy Scrumpy.

It was very reassuring to see the little arrow following the line on the map and twice saved me from doing bonus miles.. Would have been a complete success if I hadnt left it navigating on the drive home afterwards

Great ride in the sunshine.Possibly the prettiest scenery on any Audax I have done yet.

Its not called the LUMPY Scrumpy for nothing though.

I thought it was nice today so went out in summer gear . I was soon home changing back into wind stopping long sleeves . Been sneezing all afternoon and got a runny nose
