I got given a mixed case of cans of Carling and Carlsberg last week.
On the cans of Carling it says they're "New Taste Lock Cans" with:-
Improved seam for taste protection.
Two stage "in can" liner for great taste protection.
The only trouble is I think they forgot to put the taste in.
Still, shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth eh?
I've seen those. And after all, those old tins were always letting the flavour leak out weren't they?* Not that I'd drink Carling.
There are streets we collect from where they drink so much, we reckon Carling should just install a silo with a tap on it.
I'm with pete on the Innis and Gunn. And I like a Spitfire, but I drink halves, so it's a wing at a time.
*I remember when Kitkat went flowwrap, a man from Nestle had to go on Today and be questioned by John Humphreys about it. It went somthing like this:
JH: So, why are you doing this?
Nestle Man: Well, it keeps the Kitkat fresher for longer.
JH: So, you mean we've been eating stale Kitkats all this time?
NM: Well, no, they were fine, but they'll be fresher now...
JH: But you said they were fine before? How can they be fresher than fine?
This went on for some time, with JH taking him on as if he were a minister trying to hide something. What he wanted the guy to admit of course is that it's just cheaper and easier to do by machine than foil and paper, but you can keep the cost the same - or even increase it because of the 'benefit' of flow wrap.
