Tonights tea- dilemma.

Right, so we're in the middle (actually that's being a bit optimistic) of fitting the new kitchen. Floors tiled and the grouts drying , walls are replastered. This means we are still without appliances and, indeed, anything you could call a kitchen of any real sort. What we do have is a baby belling.

Last night we had dal.

what do we have tonight? Takeaways aren't funny anymore.

Make some pesto and boil a pan of pasta.

Stir fried noodles -

one pot cooking will be fine - you can do pasta of course and have the cooked pasta on the side.

Stews with bread or if you wanted to cook up rice first you can put that wrapped in a tea towel to stay warm with a lid on.

If you're really struggling it might be worth picking up an electric hob for the short term if the kitchen is going to take a little while longer.

To be honest, one-pot cooking, in fact most cooking, comes easy to me, but for some reason, I look at my kitchen shell, and my mind goes completely blank.

Maybe if I put down a bit of turf and erect a tent in there the ideas'll come flooding back?! The wife'd love that!
