Have i missed a similar thread elsewhere on Cycle Chat? I thought that the most famous bike ride in the world would have been a very popular subject today! Let;s face it,road cycling doesn't really register in the minds of the general public,most of them have only heard of the Tour de France, so for three weeks they can see some serious cycling on the telly, and even have a moan because "they've stopped my favourite programme on ITV4 for that bloody cycling rubbish Doris"!

You have a point. I'd like to see them haul themselves up climbs with loaded panniers. That'd be a real event to watch.
