Members of forums like this one seem pretty fixated on that particular record; Poggy will want it in due course, but it won't be top of his list just yet.
He may never get a better chance than this year to win all three senior jerseys. Stage wins obviously contribute hugely to the points jersey, and for that reason alone he'll take them when he can. But second place yesterday was almost as good, especially as he also picked up a few points in the intermediate.

Today's unexpected humour - a bloke washing the finish line barriers as Lars Bak is doing live TV analysis of the coming stage, forcing him to dodge some splashback and hop over the hosepipe a couple of times

The pity is he's realised this - or UAE bosses have convinced him. I preferred it when he thought he was invincible but cracked
I hope the failed chase [whatever the reason] of arensmen by UAE signals enough weakness for big breaks to go .... That's the danger to UAE .

To be fair, Danish TV are banging on about the 35 stages as well, it's not just British Cav fans.
He's trying to pick up the green by stealth then, as he hasn't contested any intermediates - Pollitt went over the line before him yesterday. It was actually pretty lax that Consonni didn't move up past him to protect Milan's lead.

All of these possibilities will have crossed his and UAEs mind . Mulling it over . Frankly it's not impossible he rides conservatorally and still grabs all 3 jerseys. The pros and cons of trying / successes are numerous ,... Trying to bag all 3 and failing is as bad "politically" as trying and winning . In fact it's worse than seemingly not to try and win . Finessing it and coming 2nd everywhere he can is pure Machiavellian guile.
What else are they going to think about ?

Amazing there's a whole week with ventoux and the Alps to go and it feels all over.

I think the problem is that Visma have tried to pressure and fatigue Pog but it hasn't worked (bearing in mind we're not in week three yet!), and it doesn't like they can do much to pressure him now when he's got a 4 minute lead. It's still possible he could have some sort of bad day, but it's going to be tricky for Visma to find out when that is and exploit it, unless they carry on throwing the kitchen sink at him, in which case they might not have the team to do it. I'm sure Jonas will carry on putting in some digs, but unless Pog has a really bad day UAE will be able to deal with them and he's likely to lose more seconds like yesterday
