Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
But on the positive side I did get to revisit some sights from last year's fantastic holiday in Luz St Sauveur

The white jersey is not over just yet.

Del Toro is the favourite but there's a possibility that he may have to do work for Pog, affecting his personal chances.

That said, Pog's position is now unassailable so it's quite possible that it may be the other way round with Pog and the UAE team working to DTs advantage to get him onto the 3rd (or even 2nd) overall.

Go go Tiberi!! Miaow! 🐈

To be fair, one of the main similarities between Pogacar and Sky/Ineos/Netcompany are that they're both trying to complete the set of monuments.

Skynet have won three in total over 16.5 seasons and are missing both Flanders and Lombardia, while Pog has won thirteen over 7.5 seasons and is only missing Roubaix. It's anyone's guess who'll win this battle of domination.

FWIW, I don't think you can group Sky, Ineos and Netcompany together.
Yes they are all a progression but Sky got out at the right time (for them). It's been downhill since.

It's interesting that people now consider a lead of less than 3 minutes at the end of week 1 to be unassailable. In 2022 Jonas turned a 39" deficit into a 2' 22" lead in a single stage before eventually extending that to 3' 34" at the end of stage 20 (he gave away over 50" on the final stage). I'm not saying it will happen again but there are plenty examples of collapses in GTs, it only takes bit of illness to knock someone off form and Pog has previous of going too deep in the early part of the race whilst looking unbeatable (less likely this year with him being fresher than post-Giro Jonas).

I agree, it's not all over yet. Anything can happen -
A puncture on a descent leading to a crash.
The heat taking its toll on a mountain stage.
Crosswind splits.

It's a shame Traeen couldn't hang in yesterday. If he had just lost a few seconds here and there over the next week or so it could have kept things interesting. Getting into yellow obviously took a lot out of him as I expected him to do better than he did (pre-crash). I'd like to think that some of the others will be prepared to go all in to force something especially Jonas as he has the Giro and previous Tours in the locker so is settling for second again a worthwhile prize?
