Where did your commentators give you the story? Or are you still waiting, so that they can tell it as UAE shell some GC riders off the back instead of telling you what's happening?

To go all wispy eyed for a moment, I remember hearing David Duffield tell it for the first time and genuinely thought he was making it up.

He spoke of riders getting up at 2am and fashioning their own repairs, and it was so far removed from what I was watching at the time (probably Pantani in 98) that I thought he'd gone doolally (which separately still may have been the case with Duffers)
