WTF are Bahrain doing riding to protect 9th place on GC

(that's what everyone would say if it were Ineos riding in the same situation, no?)

It is, but Bahrain didn't win 8 Tours in 9 years with 4 different riders, while also picking up 3 Giros and a couple of Vueltas, and hoovering up every week long race available to boot. So there is that.

I'd say this is more "What are Movistar riding for?" (anno any given year for about a decade or so)

Which is weird, really, because no-one outside the top ten is really fussed. I've always mentally equated the prestige of a stage win with top-6 on GC.

I'd never heard of Jordan Jegat until just before this year's Tour, when I looked at last year's GC results. Totally anonymous!
