I'm wondering if he is another that will never get back to their prior form after a serious crash. There seem to be a few out there. Jonas feels like an exception at present but even there I'm not sure he's at the level he was previously (hard to tell as the only real gauge is Pog who is pretty unique). Obviously Tao's big season was also the strange Covid year so it's hard to know for certain if it was a true reflection of his potential although he was looking good up until the crash in the 2023 Giro.

I hope not but he isn't getting any younger . He could have won his second giro that year. Finished a pan flat tt one sec behind G 4 sec behind remco ... Remco had COVID I'll grant you

Stage 7: Another spicy finish over the Bürgenstock and then halfway up Sunday’s mountain TT. Last chance for the breakaway, but also a GC kind of day with an ending similar to stage 5.

Carlton has no concept of distance, speed and time. He was calling Vauquelin as stage winner and Almeida third with 250m to go on an uphill finish
