Friday 18th
I had to go on a 'rescue mission' last night
Daughters boyfriend had arranged to go camping with friends, near Settle (North Yorkshire)
She stayed at home with the Dog
To avoid the Bradford ULEZ, he'd decided to go via; M62/M606.Wibsey/Queenbury/A629/Keighley
We got a call about 17:00(?), telling us that he'd broken down, & that the 110 wasn't playing anymore
So, as they have RAC membership, he rang
Times were quoted, & passed, as it was decided that he needed tilt-bed recovery, BUT, for whatever reason, they wouldn't collect the 'van?
I was despatched to go & get it, he'd told me where he was, & that he was opposite the
Black Dyke Mills Practice Rooms, so I knew to within a dozen yards
On arrival, it was apparrant that his explanation of why it wasn't going anywhere was to be seen, as the drive belt can be seen under it
(
The strands were wrapped round the vacuum pump pulley
He was 'parked' at a crossroads, with a filter-lane alongside him (in opposite direction), & at a bus-stop
Once it was unhitched & pushed forward, I managed to get inbetween & hitch the 'van up to the Kodiaq
Home via the reverse of the above route
It was set down in the yard that they store it in
I was home for 20:45, & in bed by 21:05 (on early-turns, with an alarm ringing before 04:00)
On the bright side, it hadn't happened on the A65........... now that could have been an interesting 'recovery' for the RAC & myself!

I have no idea what time he was eventually recovered, as she's not left me a text, telling me

Edit; Saturday 19th @ 09:40
I’ve been told he eventually got taken home at 23:30
