Northern rail this time, I booked a ticket from Shipley to Liverpool yesterday at 8.30am for a departure at 9.38am, I can walk to the station easily. As I comlpleted the online purchase I realised that I'd booked for Friday, not Thursday. I rang the helpline only to find it wasn't open till 9am.
I got through at 9.05am.
Me - "I have accidently booked tickets for tomorrow but I want to travel today"
NR - "Reference number please"
Me - "xxcc44543"
NR - "We have no record of that purchase"
Me -" Ok, how do I go about travelling today, can I use them, there'll be plenty of capacity, it's outside peak times"
NR - "No"
Me - "Can they be changed/altered on your system so that I can use them today"
NR - "No, and I still can't find them"
Me - "Can the station staff help me"?
NR - "No, they are not authorised to"
Me - "Ok what do I need to do? I need to be in Liverpool s.o.o.n."
NR - "You have to buy new tickets"
Me - "Ok,and you'll refund me for the others"?
NR - "Yes"
Me - "When"?
NR - "In about 6 weeks, first you have to enter our website, find a form in PDF, print it off, filll it in, post it to us and then we will consider the application".
Me - "

I'd run out of time so went to Shipley station where the counter girl listened, then promptly printed off replacement tickets for no charge.
