Big thanks to LD for planning this route and to all those on the ride. I had a great weekend and it was something of an eye-opener, having never really ridden outside of the South of England. Hmm, certainly didn't feel like a wind assisted climb! I only noticed evidence of any wind, when we had the long downhill into Machynlleth... some scary crosswinds on that descent. Felt a bit of a headwind on the main road south, down to Talybont, so I would say it was mainly Southerly.
