Simon Clarke announces his retirement: who will Carlton 'fancy to do something today' now?
Easy, the entire peloton.

Reichenbach? Taylor Phinney?
It's usually someone who is easy to recognise otherwise he hasn't got a clue who any of them are

Fulgsang retires from the retirement home....

Riding into Rome on Sunday will be an extra special moment for Jakob Fuglsang as he races for the final time with IPT, calling time on a stellar career.

40 years old. 17 years as a pro. 27 wins. Countless memories.

Sir Dave Brailsford is set to step back from Manchester United and return as sporting director at Ineos, focusing on the cycling team.
Rumour has it that G will take up some sort of leadership role as well when he finishes at the end of the year.

Man U are gonna miss him 🤣

Is there enough to do for all these people commanding super high salaries? Matt White is available as well. No idea how good he is, but maybe he would be a good fit for Ineos?

Michael Matthew’s with a heart issue. Racing paused and no TDF.

Signs of a pulmonary embolism apparently

Ineos have announced the heavily rumoured partnering up with Total Energies, and they have also announced the signing, from 2027, of Benjamin Noval - mentioned recently I think.

The INEOS Grenadiers Cycling Team has today announced a jersey partnership with leading global integrated energy company, TotalEnergies.

The sponsorship agreement builds on the strong existing industrial relationship between the team’s owners, INEOS, and TotalEnergies, and reflects their shared passion for professional cycling.

John Allert, INEOS Grenadiers CEO, said: “We are proud to announce this new jersey partnership, which marks an important milestone in the close relationship between INEOS Grenadiers and TotalEnergies in elite cycling. It provides us with the opportunity to pursue our shared goals and ambitions at the highest level of the sport we love — competing at the top while developing the next generation of world-class riders.

In retrospect the TotalEnergies is not as clear cut, it's a jersey sponsorship (First time I have heard that touted), and it doesn't look like they team up officially, and TE ditch the other current team until 2027 - if I am reading things correctly.
Looks like TE are contractually obligated to their current team, and this was a way to get around the sports rules on that part.
Noval does indeed appear to be the biggest hope for the longer term future, let's hope (for him above all else) he can stay injury free, avoid accidents, and have a great career. By the time he is at his peak, Pog will be in his 30s.

An oil company and a fracking plastics firm. Just needs an oil despotic leader. Maybe an arms manufacturer. Ineos are really leaning into the 'Team Evil' image!

'The other current team' is basically the descendant of the famous Gitane teams, including Renault-Elf-Gitane and Système U. I hope it doesn't fold. Surely someone will want it.
