Doesn't sound like Vingegaard is entirely happy at Visma. Maybe Ineos should chuck some money at him. Get Remco as well.

I think that would be an error. He’s had 5 consecutive serious TDF’s. He would have won 5 in a row were it not for Pog. History tells us more than 5 such TDF’s is very unusual.

Onley or Remco would be better bets IMO. I think Remco has a TDF win in him.

Thing is, Ineos dont have have any money to chuck.

I'm pretty sure Ineos will shortly be rolling in it with the Direct Energies sponsorship, I'm less convinced Jonas is unhappy at Visma, there's a lot of stuff that's blown way out of proportion.

I do wonder if Remco actually really wants to be the main GC man on a team or whether he'd be happier doing Classics and shorter stage races.

I've thought that. Think back to the Kuss Vuelta. Remco struggling on GC. Sad Remco. Then suddenly Remco loses enough time to be out of GC and hunt stages and light the race up. Happy Remco.

But that's just nonsensical blather. If you've read this far, sorry. I wasted your time ;)

To paraphrase Caroline Aherne: what was it about the multi million euro contract that attracted you to declare yourself as a GC GT rider, Remco?

But that's a problem for all riders, not just Remco. (Except MVDP in some events)

Of course, but we're saying that he should kinda give up on GTs because he doesn't have a hope of winning them unless Pogacar isn't racing, when that's largely the case for the Classics as well. Indeed, I think Pogacar has beaten him in the last 8 one day races they've competed in together, and the only Remco victory in the last 4 years that didn't involve Pogacar crashing out was the 2022 Worlds.

I'd sign him without a second thought...love him as a rider. What is he 25 and already podiumed the tour, won the Vuelta, and won something like 9 gt stages.... He's a good 10 years or more to be in with a shout of winning the Tour.
Failing that stick a 100k TT in and it's guaranteed.
