"Director of Racing" sounds pretty grand. Hopefully it's just a fancy name for a role that won't test him too much to begin with and will give him time to learn.

Being a TdF winner and all round nice guy is no guarantee of success in management. There are plenty of very successful athletes who have flopped in management, and plenty of mediocre ones who have succeeded.

Anyway, best of luck to him.

I'm not so sure that matters. The problem is/was the branding and the team name, not the underlying ownership. Maybe that's me being naïve.
