No criticisism, purely curious. I assume you aren't a MTB'r?
Panter said:It's not dull, honestly
Scary, huge fun, awe inspiring, frustrating, painful, exhilerating, depressing, exciting, maybe, but not dull![]()

Thats Grizedale, a great starting point and a fun lil ride, there are much better purpose built trails about though, tougher and longerRhythm Thief said:Fair enough. I've done a couple of trails - that one up in the Lakes near Hawkshead springs to mind, whatever it's called - and while it was fun up to a point, it just struck me as sort of pointless, riding around in circles in an elaborately constructed environment.

Agreed, can't beat a bit of fell running!Rhythm Thief said:That's the one. Given a choice, I'd rather have gone off into the hills on foot with an OS map. I prefer my fun a bit less manufactured.
Crackle said:Yeah, I can relate to that. Actually no I can't.

And all the cars with bike racks on annoyed me ... if I'm going to go cycling, I prefer to go somewhere.
But I'm glad you enjoy your MTBing. Don't let a curmudgeonly old git like me put you off.![]()

In my case we did that stuff when we were young, on tatty old 3-speeds with fat tyres and bar-brakes 'cos we couldn't afford Holdsworths. I feel absolutely no more need to repeat the experience especially since technology has advanced. Rough Devon tracks on a 1940's Hercules 3 speed, now that's an experience!
