Suppose it falls to me to start this^_^. What do you all think?. Without spoiling the plot, more action than in 2009, a 'reworking' of an old movie idea which fits in with the alternate timeline, insane stunts and SFX, a few nods to the fanboys (a line about nurse Christine Chapel, signs on doors etc). Liked it in 3D - the warp drive 'jump' has the engines practically poking you in the eyes).

Hope the next one does a bit more deep space exploration.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Better than the previous one which I also liked a lot.

As you say, a nice reworking. I like the role reversal in "that" scene.

i thought it an enjoyable romp, albeit not a masterpiece, but well worth the ticket price and time. Looks good, well acted all round, with particularly good performances from chap playing Spock, and a Cumerbatch (sp?) outstanding as the villain exuding chilling menace whilst remaining polite and urbane. That said, the film seemed to finish, then have a pointless and frankly dull "action" scene in the end; possibly to show off 3d or to sell a spin off video game. Oh well, enjoyable all the same although on balance the earlier one was a bit better.

Didn't go for the 3d showing, having made that mistake once previously. I don't pay my money to get a headache and feel sick - that's what beer is for after all. In any case the 3d thing is a novelty act since in real 3d only works up to about arm's lenght.

I enjoyed it. The only other Star Trek thing I've seen was the other recent film, so I can confirm that they're both very accessible if you know nothing of the older series/flims etc.
I did think the ending felt slightly like they ran out of time and had to cut it short... and my boyfriend pointed out that if you're paying attention the trailer has an effective spoiler for the last scene of the film... (I didn't spot this).

SPOLIER ALERT:stop:

I loved the mad action sequence when they race through the ship, in free-fall towards the Earth, jumping over corridors that are suddenly vertical, running along the walls etc as everyone tumbles around them, like washing in a tumble drier.
