@Nigel182 shouldn't be a problem, just unscrew the toggle chain from the gear cable , taking care not to move the little knurled nut, you don't need to unscrew the toggle chain from the wheel to change the tyres , when the wheel is back on the bike re-attatch the toggle chain to the gear cable screwing it up to the knurled nut and your gears should be as they were before you removed the wheel
