Entirely rebuilding the inside of my narrowboat home from scratch, recycling most of my old flat furniture on a tight budget. No previous experience so very happy.

Sounds great, but hardly trivial!

I turned down the offer of free external wall insulation under the government's green energy scheme. I'd had trouble with 3rd party contractors in the past and I'd seen the ones they were using on my road. They weren't even wearing the correct protective clothing.

I've just heard on Radio 4 that 98% of homes insulated under this scheme have potential problems with damp. The work was either substandard or the insulation wasn't appropriate for the property.

"Were you mis sold COVID?"

I think that bus has sailed. IIRC they are already moving in the Americas to sue their drug companies for mis-representation of their product.

I was out and about yesterday when a bloke I knew many years ago in my infant school days accidentally bumped into me, apologising, with me saying it's OK. I've always thought he didn't, wouldn't recognise me from 60 years ago when we've passed each other in the street, but yesterday he asked how I was, saying he recognised me from our home town which was 7 miles away from our accidental meeting. I asked if he remembered our primary school days when he was my best friend, thinking he wouldn't do, but he said he did and always thought I wouldn't have recognised him from those days! So there we were, both of us seeing each other over the years, knowing our past, but thinking 'he' won't remember me from those long ago days'. We said we'd keep in touch, albeit mostly via 'social media', but it was nice to break the ice as such and be able to stop thinking 'I know him, but he won't remember me from 60 years ago'!😉
