I learned years ago never to trust someone who doesn't like dogs on at least some level.
Something that has proven me right in the past, no offence if they just don't interest you or you were attacked as a kid, etc.

Conversely, there are some absolute psychos who love dogs, but the lack of an appreciation for dogs or animals in general is always an unsettling 'red flag' to me.

I much prefer cats, and I certainly have an appreciation of animals in general. I don't actively dislike dogs in general, but would never choose to own one, and do actively dislike them licking me.

Decapitate the egg with a swift blow from a knife.
My other half is a smasher, I find this a barbaric practice.
Though smashing the egg with the small end of the spoon just seems very inefficient, bordering on futile.

Your original reference completely went over my head. However, while eating eggs this morning, with said spoon, I googled your reference then had stop myself going down an internet wormhole.

The irony of the matter is that while I was reading your reply I noticed that I had opened the egg upside down due to the oddly uniform shape of the egg. Spooky!

Truthfully, I inherited a nice pocket watch that is lacking its minute hand. I am on the look-out for a replacement from a donor watch, but that of course will be ... oh never mind.
