I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
More importantly, it was never an act. He really is a racist misogynist who lies, and believes his own lies. Why in the world would he change, when everything that has happened has endorsed him and his reality?
Surely there is a limit or I can see him getting himself impeached for something

On what basis?

Is the question is directed at me? If yes, its the same feeling I got with brexit, the rhetoric in the papers, the attacks on people for their choices etc It was all pushing the undecided/disenfranchised to the party people didn't want in. The polls were skewed for the same reason, that a lot of people voting for trump/brexit were keeping their decision to themselves until polling day.

My only hope for this whole mess is that political parties concentrate on promoting themselves and not attacking others.

President Trump.

Well the Americans all went nuts and voted his party in.

The guy is a clown.
And why not? The US has multiple levels of governance that does not allow random acts. Anything that Obama promised has been diluted and /or rejected by the
I have only one thing to say. Oh fark. Heaven help us all.

Don't worry so much! There are plenty of layers of government (worldwide) to ameliorate anything that anyone may be 'dreading'. No politician has ever done what they get you to believe in their election spoutings - why should this President be any different in the 'execution' of his policies?
Take Francois Hollande - he is a Socialist President and supporter of Mrs Clinton. His actions on behalf of France have aggravated terrorist threat and action in France ( Nice, Bataclan in Paris etc), and whetted Sarkozy's appetite for a return to power (activating the 'threat' of a Le Pen far right). Cameron has already fallen...
What this tells us is that PEOPLE want to have their views heard as life isn't so good. However they vote, it is up to us with our opinions to respect that choice and see what might work. Hopefully, things will work out for the United States and citizens find some unity in the next four years - without any "buttons being pressed".

On talking to my suppliers in the USA they were often getting a different press than we do over here, take the wall thing, we got the news they did not.

A war criminal not endorsing you isn't a bad thing as we've just seen.

Maybe Corbyn would say the same about Blair but it hasn't done him much good.

You can only judge a leader at the end of their term. My Guess? Trump will turn out to be ok. He got it because an out of touch elite either don't understand or ignored the concerns of the majority of their citizens, mirroring the EU referendum here.

I wish I had as much luck on the horses as I do on political forecasts, I it called right on our own election, Brexit and now this.

Nope. As - as you say - with the EU referendum here, he got it because many of his citizens' lives have turned to crap, and they blame it on 'them' - a toxic mix of 'the elite', foreigners, and black people. They think that by voting for someone who shares their mood of rage and frustration, their lives will improve. As - again with the EU referendum - they will now find out that their problems are rooted in globalisation, have nothing to do with 'the elite', foreigners or black people, and will continue to turn to crap...just faster, and deeper, and worse than they ever could have imagined.

Trump will not turn out to be OK. Trump will turn out to be a disaster. The only real question is whether we will manage to get through the next four years without a major, real, full-on war, involving the big players. I'm hopefuil of that at least. But for the rest, I think it's going to be anything but OK. Especially for foreigners and black people (the elite will be ok - they always are) but for pretty much everyone else too.

Who is Trump likely to start a war with? I can see him and Putin getting on better than most US and Russian leaders.

I'm pretty happy Trump has won, at least we have avoided WW3 with Russia for now. Hillary had that big red button primed for the launch in January!

I think Clinton is more hawkish than Trump who is more an isolationist. It leaves a slight vacuum though in world affairs and what will happen over the next few years is harder to predict, it's that vacuum which may be responsible for more conflict not actual actions.

I know how Doc Brown felt now, I can see the new Back to the Future remake now

Doc: So tell me future boy! who is the president of the United States in the future?

Marty: Donald Trump

Doc: Donald Trump? The guy off the apprentice?? *chuckles in disbelief*
