They look like fun
Do any of you ride one just for the fun of it ? Or are they for ONLY if you are seriously doing TT's ?

Mr Haematocrit

msg me on kik for android
You would be crazy to ride a TT bike for anything other than a TT or training for one, they are not comfortable as a road bike and are not reknown for great handling. They are pretty extreme bikes.

Fixed wheel fanatic.
I don't even ride one for TTs !
Battering yourself to pieces on a bike riding a timetrial is a fairly specific discipline and you'd not see any advantage over a normal road bike on a day to day ride. IMHO
Edit - What he said^

Riding TT Bars on the road is a recipe for disaster as there's no brakes on them so you've got little to no chance of stopping quickly.

I've seen people riding with them through London and wondered how they are still alive!

You do realise that most domestic time trial races take place on the open road right?

This one has a rear mounted front brake and a chain stay rear brake . Di2 shifting in there aswell .
Its a very good price as the Di2 is worth more . I thought it would be a fun bike to blast around the park .

atomic was refering to the fact you can not brake from the aero bars, you have to move your hands to the basebar/bullhorns to brake, which means your reactions will be slowed in the case of an emergency.

Brilliant fun and set up right nice and comfortable. I like a change from the road or MTB from time to time.

Yeah, but not in central London traffic....

I cover the brakes on both my road bikes when I see the road ahead needs it .
That's what I was thinking Screenman , take it to nice roads and do a few laps on a Sunday . Mind you I thought that about the TCR
I guess im liking the experience of nice bikes so want to try others out .

I wasn't thinking of using it to commute . It looks like a fun quite high spec bike to blast around my local park on . Ive seen a few people on them and have kept the pace they where doing on my Defy 5 ( ok I was drafting :hyper: ) But they look fun . Also I want a pointy helmet so I look like an alien .

Have you thought about putting TT bars on your road bike?
I did put some cheap ones on the Defy to see if I liked them but thought it made me look like a twat . Although I do a pretty good job of that without props
Its not set in stone that I will buy it , I just saw it , thought it was a good price and may be fun so asked about them here .
