Heading home in the dark I decided to take the long route as I was in a bad mood and need to snap out of it.

On an NSL unlit B road I came across a ninja master. Note I didn't use the term 'saw'. I was first aware of him when I heard a squeaking noise that wasn't from my bike. After a few seconds it sounded like it was coming from my right. I looked right and caught a glimpse of the ninja master. As far as I could see he was a black ghost. now bear in mind I had a MaxxD on Medium on the handlebars and a magicshine on low on my helmet; this guy was good.

The next ninja was more interesting.
On a long straight stretch on a different unlit NSL B road I could see something reflecting way ahead (150m+). I couldn't figure out what it was as it seemed to be moving slightly. as I got closer I could see it was on my side of the road and it was low down. When I was about 75m from it I realised it was a small dog with a reflective jacket on walking towards me. Then the brain started ticking, dogs aren't usually out without a person, where is the person, are they all right. At about 20m I saw the person, walking on the road side of the dog, dressed head to toe in black, even a black gloved hand raised against my lights.

A short wile later a pleasant surprise that the council have resurfaced a particularly bad section of road, nice one!

Then I hit the usual queuing traffic, made worse by some temporary traffic lights. No traffic coming towards so I took primary in the oncoming lane. Several cars still moved left but one van pulled about 3 feet into the right lane, no problem for me, I barley had to change position to pass him; but the guy coming towards us in a 7.5 tonne truck was not going to get through the gap. I didn't hang about to see what happened.

The bad mood, completely gone!

Ninjas everywhere! Driving yesterday cyclist in black clothing with no lights and then a van on the hard shoulder with no lights, no hazards and on an unlit section of the M4....

I love it when that happens

I keep seeing a strange ninja type recently. Below, I had just come from a NSL unlit B road, onto this road, whch approaches a 30mph limit village. He seems to travel the opposite way to me.

All he has (on his pannier loaded bike) is a single amber flashing light!

All right so it might not be a good idea not having a front light, but I've never seen why people get so excited about various types of fairies. Nice pic though.

The numpty I keep seeing when I'm cycling home from work through Bedworth about seven in the evening does have lights, both a red light and a white light on their handlebars facing forwards.

I (only just) spotted a ninja cyclist this evening. He was wearing black trousers, a black jacket, and was riding a black bike, no lights, obviously, that's all par for the course... What really shook me was the fact that he wasn't wearing gloves, had no hat on and was sporting a shaved head. It's bloody freezing here tonight; his brain must have been like a block of ice. Actually, given his lack of concern about being visible to the motorists bearing down on him at speed, perhaps he'd left his brain at home to keep it warm?

The car driver in Bedworth last night only just spotted the ninja, came out from between parked cars on the right and disappeared between parked cars on the left onto the pavement, I only spotted the ninja when the cars brake lights came on and I started wondering what they were braking for when they were still a good 50 - 100 yards from the island.

I don't recall ever "only just" spotting a ninja cyclist. I've always seen them in good time

Ah, but how do you know that? A good ninja cyclist is completely invisisble and only shows himself by his tyre tracks in the snow.

Pah! That's nothing  Try a Ninja car last week.

Busy rush hour traffic at a set of Crossroad traffic lights, I was the first in the right hand turn queue.
It was dark, lots of car lights about, looked in my mirror, nothing was behind me, I also notice no cars pull up while I'm there.
As I went set off I did a lifesaver check before turning, there was a middle aged chap in a car right on my bike wheel with no lights on, I'm trying to point it out to him, pointing at his lights several times. He just mouthed "yeah yeah yeah" (He was that close) and flicked the back of his hand.
He overtook me, THEN put his lights on. Priorities eh? Maybe he just thought I was telling him off for being so close then figured it out.

How embarrassing for him, having a hi-viz-two-lights-front-and-back-red-light-stopping-cyclist tell you about YOUR lights.
