Heading home in the dark I decided to take the long route as I was in a bad mood and need to snap out of it.
On an NSL unlit B road I came across a ninja master. Note I didn't use the term 'saw'. I was first aware of him when I heard a squeaking noise that wasn't from my bike. After a few seconds it sounded like it was coming from my right. I looked right and caught a glimpse of the ninja master. As far as I could see he was a black ghost. now bear in mind I had a MaxxD on Medium on the handlebars and a magicshine on low on my helmet; this guy was good.
The next ninja was more interesting.
On a long straight stretch on a different unlit NSL B road I could see something reflecting way ahead (150m+). I couldn't figure out what it was as it seemed to be moving slightly. as I got closer I could see it was on my side of the road and it was low down. When I was about 75m from it I realised it was a small dog with a reflective jacket on walking towards me. Then the brain started ticking, dogs aren't usually out without a person, where is the person, are they all right. At about 20m I saw the person, walking on the road side of the dog, dressed head to toe in black, even a black gloved hand raised against my lights.
A short wile later a pleasant surprise that the council have resurfaced a particularly bad section of road, nice one!
Then I hit the usual queuing traffic, made worse by some temporary traffic lights. No traffic coming towards so I took primary in the oncoming lane. Several cars still moved left but one van pulled about 3 feet into the right lane, no problem for me, I barley had to change position to pass him; but the guy coming towards us in a 7.5 tonne truck was not going to get through the gap. I didn't hang about to see what happened.
The bad mood, completely gone!
