Quite new to all this, so excuse the ignorance. Have recently purchased a hybrid bike which came with kenda k west 700 x 38c tyres. Was wondering if I could change these for something a little slicker - as am predominantly using it on the road, something like a 32c perhaps? Or would this not be advisable on this type of bike, any thoughts would be appreciated!

32c should be fine. Straightforward swap.

Put anything you fancy on it.
Friend of mine was struggling with a heavyish hybrid. I lent him some skinny road bike wheels with 700x23c slicks on. It looked frankly silly but it transformed his riding experience and he utterly refused to let me put anything wider on - even when we went touring.

Chances are the rims on the hybrid may only be happy down to about 28 but I'd certainly have no worries about going to 32.

Cheers for the replies people, I shall order some straight-away! Anyone have any particular thoughts on reasonably priced road tyres in 28 or 32 size? Have read some good things about gatorskins - thoughts?

Hard Gatorskins are good at this time of the year. I run Schwalbe marathon pluses on my Hybrid. They are very good, very puncture resistant, and available in a good range of sizes.

Schwalbe Durano Plus 28s
Better half runs these on her commuter.
Only one visitation so far in 6 months of 15 miles/day and that was a shard of glass that would have gone likely have taken down a Marathon too.
