I say take the cute guy off the list and replace him with another blobfish thing such as the Michaelius Govium, a bottom feeder.

Aha, I saw that bit on telly a couple of days ago. They stay in a permanent juvenile state. Well, when I say permanent I mean life long - someone posted about the death of their axolotl a couple of days ago. But it's alright, they got another one.

These are a certain breed that do not grow up?

Generally, although I do not know for all kinds, Axolotl do not undergo metamorphosis to change from from larval to adult state like a salamander does, but they do mature whilst remaining in the larval state and when grown they are ugly!

Axolotls are lovely - they will eat goldfish and its not advised to keep them with any fish as the fish will nibble the gils.

I have 2 Axies, one called Squishy and the other called Groo. Alex the Axolotl went and died yesterday, hubby gave him a burial at sea

@Rob3rt is quite right, they stay larval for ever, the word he was looking for was neotenic. Still not ugly though, I cannot agree with him there.
They don't like fast moving water so I hid the airstone under some bogwood. The Axies have moved the bogwood and jacuze themselves in the bubble stream.
