Apparently Sr. Eco has written an essay on American Trains. I can't work out which book it's in - and Foyles is no help. Can any of you literary types out there point me in the right direction?

Strange that a thread on Umberto Eco should be running concurrent with one on Serendipity.

There's a word for that, I just can't remember what it is at the moment.

Is it on American trains where they have a label indicating where you sit?

It's called the name of the rows:wacko:

the thread on serendipity prompted me to ask the question on Cycle Chat - so it was, in a sense, doubly serendipitous, and not serendipitous at all.....

Apparently Dell asked in Foyles for a book by Umberto Eco and the bloke said, "All right, mate, I heard you the first time"
