We have the same problem with our shower, which has a very shallow long fall on the drain. This does the trick:

While searching for that, I found this... I want!

If it's toothpaste, I tried spiral tools and plungers, even 25mm earth cable! None of them had any impact whatsoever on the toothpaste "wall". Once I'd lifted the boards and cut the pipe out, I still couldn't shift it, a combination of McLeans, Colgate and Crest has magical building potential.

I had a blocked shower trap that resisted plungers and coily springs as well as jets of water. One Shot did the business. Be very careful to follow the instructions. If you use too much you risk melting your pipework due to the powerful exothermic reaction. Don't be tempted to follow One Shot with some sodium hydroxide unless the sulphuric acid has been thoroughly flushed away with water. You will get a violent chemical reaction that will probably blow up into your face.

Have fun!

Next time you go to the £1 shop, look for the sink unblocker gadget (which is about 4 foot long twisted wire with a handle to pull and push it down the pipe). I bought one a while ago, "just in case", hoping never to have to resort to it, and when we got a blocked pipe to the washing machine, it more than earned it's cost!

One Shot is the stuff, its basically acid, so do not use on stainless steel, it ruins it. Chrome is ok AFAIK. The trap and pipework will get really quite warm but ive never had it ruin seals or pipes, and I.'ve used it quite often at work. Its never failed me...and if you can be bothered and take a trap off afterwards...its spotless after a dose.
Follow instructions religiously.

Any time you feel it slowing down, chuck a litre of thick bleach down there. This is extremely environmentally unsound, also very effective..
Is it? I thought that household bleach decomposed to salt and water ie as long as it is sufficiently diluted (which it would be in the sewers) it's perfectly harmless.

I have to frequently unblock the bath plughole. I use some scissors to grab the foot long hairs(wife and daughter i have none ) and the soap shampoo etc scum stuff attached. I can stomach many things but this makes me retch a bit!xx(

Try one of those Zip-It drain cleaning tools. Mrs GA's hair must be better than a half-meter long, and those work for me, and less disgusting.
