Underground, Overground....it's all the same to BT

I don't post much of note, but enjoy reading all the different threads, often spilling drinks into my laptop:biggrin:, but the last few days i've missed you all:sad:. I have had no phone (also live in a mobile network free area) due to what the man at the BT Call Centre refers to as an an underground fault that can only be fixed by digging the road up. It seems to me there is a training need in fault identification needed.:reading:.

This was the scene yesterday, some 5 days after the fault was reported. when a tractor with the front forks raised drove through the overhead line.

That dangly bit is my phone line, along with 40 other households. At least from today we now have a temporary connection, with a full fix promised in 5 days.

It's good to be back:thanks:

I think you will get compensation for that

I think there will be something in the offering, I shall wait and see - It is BT we're talking about. Our Community Council is going to make a formal complaint about the lack of information, mis-information and apparent lack of interest in getting the fault fixed. Even though two villages were without phone lines for several days, the engineers did not work over the weekend to resolve the issue. Anyway, that's enough of a rant - at least I did get out and about on the bike instead of hogging the internet!

We and our immediate neighbours were also without phone or internet for two weeks when the distribution pole broke. I won't bore you with the epic story of all the mobile calls and the many, many different departments at BT we talked to. Their organisation really is shockingly inefficient.

It's now registered as a high level complaint, with a complaints officer and reference number! They tried leaving messages on my mobile, even after having explained to them that I have no signal, so when I travelled into a signal enabled area today I was bombarded by BT messages. I'm no longer annoyed at their attempts to appease me, I now just smile at their ineptitude and watch them dig a bigger hole for themselves:popcorn:.
