Unwanted Malt Whiskey

Just put it at the back of a cupboard and forget about it. It might come in handy for a fruit cake or similar some time.

I don't drink and my wife doesn't drink spirits (gin doesn't count, apparently) and we have a few anonymous bottles of stuff for such purposes.

What do you do with malt whisky you open and don't like? Got at least 2 I have been given.

My father in law used get bought a lot of whiskey as he got older as nobody could think of anything else to buy him for birthdays or Christmas. So he used add fruit like sloes and give it away.

Given that a bottle of any single malt is not a £4 throwawy, I feel this is the only justitifiable solution.

Start your own blend. I read this in the whisky column of one of the papers, their whisky expert puts aside the stuff he doesn’t like then blends it with other stuff to enhance or diminish specific notes so he ends up with the right combination of flavours to his taste.
