It was an introductory bottle from the Malt Whisky Society called chocolate cupcakes or similar.

It might well be OK in whisky sour cocktails, which I'm quite partial to occasionally. The smoky whiskies (which I am very fond of) are less suitable for sours. In any case I'm reluctant to use my best whisky for a cocktail, but if it's one you don't otherwise like ...

I don't mind where it was produced , it just didn't taste great!

Did it taste anything like what it promised on the label? Generally I find these things don't. Probably alright with coke or ginger beer, but I'd not be precious about it being a single malt.
