I stayed out my local pub for 3 years over a petty argument that got out of hand. I kept meaning to go back but didn't, and the longer i left it the harder it seemed to go back in. One day i bit the bullet and walked in. "How are you i haven't seen you for a while?", and that was it, No mention of the previous dispute. Go back to your club, they might talk about you (and not necessarily in a bad way) for a few outings but after that it'll be as if you haven't been away.

That's business for you.
Grudges are too expensive.
Same's true of cycling clubs and such, unless some horrid incident has caused your exit, any club has always seemed to be happy to welcome people back. They realize that sometimes non cycling aspects of life get in the way of the important things (cycling, cake, whisky)and are usually quite well prepared for these things. If not, then try another club. But give the old club a try first. You know the ropes there.

Yep, what you will find is that it may be more awkward if you do join another club. Some people may talk more about you joining another club than going back to your old one.
