I once asked my dear, loving, caring, beautiful, strong, happy wife if she'd changed her mind.

"No", she said "I've made another decision".

And she had. And I accepted it. And twenty-odd years later we are still happy.

And she doesn't have 'stuff', she has nice things. But I have 'just old stuff'. My stuff is not worth keeping. Her things are not for throwing out.

And I accept it. And we are still happy.

It is not rocket science.

By the way, with reference to a BoaB post some pages back about paying, I think if you have to pay it is a professional thing and they might be a bad lady and you might need to go to the doctor. And if those professional ones say "Oooh" and "Yes!!" and "Aaaah!" it is not because you are a sexual athlete but because you will do what you have to do (I euphemise here) with greater alacrity than is usual and their income stream will be active again within a shorter timeframe.

After two divorces, one her fault one mine, I met a very well off lady on a dating site. It was nice at first, she wouldn't let me pay for anything. She even bought me a new motorbike because my old one kept breaking down. I reached the point where I couldn't mention I liked something or spend too long in front of a shop window looking at something because she would go behind my back and buy it for me. I didn't have much money so couldn't respond, not that she ever expected me to but that old male pride kicked in and I felt inadequate. Despite asking her to stop spending on me she continued. In the end I broke off the relationship.

Eventually I met another lady on a different site and we 100% hit it off immediately. She was like me, not that well off but without a money fixation. we married two years later and are approaching our 4th anniversary next week. In that time we haven't had an argument. I wish I had met her 45 years ago.

Dating sites can work, you just have to be patient and enjoy the search

Nice post. I met the current enemy on a dating site, about 13 years ago, it was a beta site, so they weren't charging for it at the time. We've been married for 12 years.
