I'd like to upgrade my mechanical discs (on commuter bike) to hydraulics as I have hydraulics on my other bike and they are much better. Just looking around on the net and found some good priced hydraulic brakes (levers and calipers) but without discs.
Question is can I use the mechanical discs that are already on the bike and just buy these levers + calipers I've found? Or do I need new discs as well?
Cheers!

Assuming the hydraulics come ready to accomodate the size of rotor you have then I would say yes. If you're concerned though Merlin are doing a set of Deore disc brakes for £109 including 160mm rotors with a choice of centre lock or 6 bolt. They should be more than adequate for commuting/road purposes and, more importantly, they seem to have a good reputation for reliability and low maintenance.
