We have russion doll carrier bags which is quite annoying. 2 inside 1 inside 1 inside 3. But we are proud to have not bought a carrier bag for over a year. The other thing I do at the checkout (self service) which might be controversial is, I scan all my stuff and put it loose on the weighbridge. This means extra time needed at the end to pack it all once you've paid, but avoids the constant scales/"unexpected item in the bagging area" stuff. Since I've been doing it this way, I've not had to call a staff member ever

Oh my goodness, it's the Doomsday scenario. I defrosted both freezers over the last 2 days. Mrs BF has taken it upon herself to refill the upright.

One fo my pet hates is when "people" re-arrange a shelf - either in the kitchen or freezer of anywhere
and make everything logical and nice and pretty

Then you come back from the shops having replaced the things that are stored in that place and now there is nowhere to put it all

Yep, that. Also the space is there because we need to get some more of that thing that goes there, not take the opportunity to put a different thing there so that the thing that goes there isn't gotten, whereupon the lack of the thing that goes there is the subject of much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I don't follow, why does that stop the checkout griping? I've just bought a shopping trolley which obvs can't go on the scale, so I have to put everything on the scale loose, then move it all again into the trolley, and when I did that yesterday I got "remove the last item" about 5 or 6 times.

My father used to treat every cupboard and drawer like a game of Tetris, so you had to faff around completing the puzzle just to get the door to shut. I like enough space so that you can access most items by shuffling stuff rather than removing things you don't want.
