I can't add anything useful, but get well soon beanz. I'd be gutted if my Gal, or any of my bikes, where damaged badly, and none of them have anything more than basic kit on them.

Apologies if this makes you laugh painfully, but you know I still see that 'alternative' image of of your avatar someone (Fnaar?) suggested years ago....

Can't add anything useful to all that except hope you heal up quickly.

Do you really need to claim for compensation for 'cuts and bruises'?

Just get a quote for the repair of the bike and pop it through the door of the Dairy.
That way you'll hopefuly have the cash and bike repaired within the week. You can probably wrangle a few nice new parts out of it if you're careful.

Just attach a letter to the quote stating that this payment is solely towards the repair of the damage caused to the bike and doesn't represent any form of compensation or payment towards any injuries or costs caused as a result of the crash.

If they don't want to pay up, then go through the insurance companies / compensation claims. Beware. if you go through the insurers they might force you to purchase a new bike from a store of their choice and it probably wont be the make/model you want.

What are you on RedBike? A heavy shunt like this is going to take a while to get over - even once the bruises heal up. There will be flashbacks and a confidence hit that could take a while to get over completely.

Beanz is doing the right thing getting the solicitor on the job - it's the only way to get a fair assessment and compensation for the injuries and upset an incident like this causes.

Beanz - take care over the next few day. Hope the injuries heal quickly with no lasting effects.

I dont think RB meant it quite like that. Perhaps more an error of speed reading than anything, you know how these sorts of threads expand

Ugh... what a night. Couldn't find a comfortable position to rest in, but plenty of time for thinking... Re-reading the posts, do I still need to go to my GP today to get my injuries noted if I've already been to casualty when it happened?

[Update - just checked with CTC and they say as long as casualty recorded everything, which they did, that's all they need]

In a word - yes. Doesn't do any harm to make doubly sure where your health in concerned.

Hope you start to feel better soon - takes a bit longer to recover when you get older!

I still think it might be worth going to the GP beanz as bruises etc may have come up or developed a bit- any fresh injuries/bruises get them recorded at the docs. You never know, you may need it.

Sorry to hear you had a painful night- hope it gets easier

Also, I'd assume it helps to have stuff on your GP records, in case you need any referral later - I assume any hospital attendance goes on your records, but a face to face talk with your GP will be better than just written details.
