NATO are playing war games, an extension of Exercise JOINT WARRIOR. Part of this will involve GPS jamming;

Effects are liable to be confirmed to the Northern British Isles, but under certain circs can cause brief problems as far south as the Midlands.

If you use a GPS for hill walking, mountain biking, or any activity that involves navigating away from civilisation make sure you back it up with a map and compass, like we all should be doing anyway really

Mountain rescue could also have a busy 2 weeks. Not that people go up mountains unprepared, with their only map being one on the their smartphone .

MR and Lowland Rescue are all prepared In the even of it causing problems on a callout they'll switch it back to normal for us.

And yes, people do go out woefully prepared.

I think @Gixxerman point is there will be more emergencies because people relying on GPS will get lost. They'll turn it back on to rescue them, but they would have never been in trouble if GPS has been left on.

I'm used to following GPX routes, so this could be bad. I may have to follow street signs.

Perhaps you could phone the Americans, ask them not to fiddle with their system?

We always cross check with maps when a search team is out on foot, but that's time consuming when getting vehicles personnel or materiel to an IPP, so they'll switch it on if the MR Council or ALSAR ask.

Just as JADE HELM was a UN/USA federal Government action to suppress the people of Texas, obviously JOINT WARRIOR is Westminster's attack on the disloyal people of Scotland. First they shut down the GPS, then they will block phones and internet. Finally BBC Scotland will just carry BBC 2, and it will be all over for Scottish independence.
