I think you missed the scare quotes around "secure" there. I'm quite sure that whatever combination of "mother's maiden name", "first make of pet" or "where my car went to school" secures my online banking is much more readily available than the strong password I chose - and can remember by virtue of using it daily - for my regular web-based email

Sorry - I was being imprecise. By secure email I meant secure messaging so either logging on with a digital certificate, or with email address plus password to then retrieve the email. But yes, most passwords used are crap!

I don't use facebook, but I wonder if I would be believed if I told that to my employer if they enquired about my facebook account?
